The teachers are very friendly and accommodating to a child’s needs and made our daughter feel comfortable straight away. Do I need to be a full-time student at UK Virtual School to join?

No! Our Short Courses are "Open to All." Whether you are a home educator, an expat, or a student in mainstream school looking for enrichment, you can enroll in any individual course without a full-time commitment.

How long does a Short Course term last?

Each course runs for a 3-month term (approximately 12 weeks). This allows students to dive deep into a subject and master new skills within a focused timeframe.

What is the difference between Live, One-Way, and Video Bundles?

Live Interactive: Real-time Zoom classes with a teacher and peers.

One-Way: Post-recorded weekly lessons you watch on your own schedule via the portal.

Video Bundles: Instant, lifetime access to a library of past course recordings.

How often do the Live Interactive classes meet?

Live courses consist of 3 interactive sessions per month. This schedule provides a consistent learning rhythm while leaving one week per month flexible for independent projects or family time.

What age groups are these courses for?

We offer courses for a wide range of ages, generally from Primary (ages 4–11) to Secondary (ages 11–16). Each course card in our catalog will specify the recommended age group.

Can my child switch subjects next term?

Yes! Our courses rotate every term. This is a core part of our "Exploration" philosophy, allowing students to try Python Coding one term and Italian Language or Food Science the next.

Are there any hidden costs for materials?

Most courses use everyday household items (especially Food Science or Illustration). If a specific software or kit is needed, it will be clearly listed in the course description before you sign up.

What happens if we miss a Live session?

Don’t worry! All Live sessions are recorded and uploaded to our secure Student Portal, so your child can catch up whenever it's convenient.

Will my child receive recognition for completing the course?

Absolutely! We celebrate every student's progress. Upon completing a 3-month term, students are recognized for their hard work and new skills, helping them build confidence and a personal portfolio of their learning journey.

How do I register for a Short Course?

Registration is simple! Browse our Course Catalog to find a subject that sparks your child's interest. From there, select your preferred learning format (Live, One-Way, or Video Bundle) and click the "Enroll" or "Book Now" button. Follow the checkout process to secure your spot, and you'll receive a welcome email with all the details to get started!
